Climate change 'serious threat' to coastal towns

Some people still believe that the global warming phenomenon is just a political argument. In Australia, we have signs of global warming to verify that it is real... very real. According to an article from The Age Newspaper:

"CLIMATE change poses a "real and serious threat" to Victoria's 2000-kilometre coastline, according to a State Government report that warns of an increase in sea levels and widespread destruction of coastal habitats.

The Victorian Coastal Strategy, to be made public today, predicts a bleak future for many coastal towns as they come under stress from climate change and population growth.

The report, by the Victorian Coastal Council, says previous forecasts have significantly underestimated global warming's effects."
